Within the Asparagaceae (asparagus) family, gold dust dracena is a slow-growing evergreen that is commonly grown as a houseplant. Its gorgeous variegated leaf and tropical appearance are what make it unique to western tropical Africa. The Latin word for shooting is surculosa, while the Greek word for dragon is the source of the genus name Dracaena.

NASA and Dr. Bill Wolverton's study has shown that dracaena is one of the best plants for air purification. Because they store water in their trunks, they are drought-tolerant even if you forget to water them from time to time. They are also very low maintenance.

Dos

For Dracaena Floida Beauty, temperatures above 65°F are excellent. During the winter months, keep the leaves away from drafty doors and windows because sudden drops in temperature might harm them. Your plants will require much more frequent watering if the temps are too high.

Don'ts

Overwatering is a major issue with Florida beauty plants.
